Elections

All members of the General Assembly are elected by qualified voters within their respective Senate and House of Delegates districts. The 40 members of the Senate serve four-year terms and the 100 members of the House serve two-year terms. Members may not hold any other elected public office during their term of office.
The Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General are statewide elected officials who serve four-year terms.
