The Virginia Register of Regulations is the official publication of state regulations. Published every two weeks, it gives notice of all state agency rulemakings. The Virginia Code Commission, through the Registrar’s office, publishes the Virginia Register of Regulations. Regulations are created through legislation passed by the General Assembly of Virginia. Legislation passed will contain specific information and details on how legislation is to be enforced.

The Virginia Register of Regulations website contains information for the public about the regulatory process in Virginia and how citizens can participate. The website also provides resources for agency regulatory coordinators to use when submitting regulatory packages to the Office of the Registrar for publication in the Virginia Register of Regulations.
