Here at the Capitol, the Virginia Capitol Foundation is a small non-profit organization whose mission is to support the restoration, preservation, and interpretation of our great Capitol, Capitol Square, and the Executive Mansion. The Capitol and Capitol Square itself have a rich history in our Commonwealth, and the building and park-like grounds draw visitors from near and far on a daily basis. The Virginia Capitol Foundation plays an integral part in the preservation efforts to maintain our Capitol in Thomas Jefferson’s design, as well as a key role in making the visitor experience new and relevant for today’s guests. VCF is the organization that makes fundraising possible on Capitol Square.

We invite you to join us in supporting VCF’s Annual Fund. The work the Virginia Capitol Foundation does is incredibly valuable and impactful, and we can’t do it without your support of our Annual Fund.

The Senate of Virginia established the Booker T. Washington Commemorative Commission in 2021 (Senate Resolution 95) to honor Booker T. Washington’s Virginia heritage and contributions to education.
