Use of Darden Garden / Rallies
Darden Garden can be reserved for groups of 10 or more persons for any demonstration, rally or other activities that involve the communication or expression of views or ideas having the effect, intent, or propensity to draw a crowd or onlookers.
These events typically occur while the General Assembly is in session and must adhere to the policy established jointly by the House of Delegates of Virginia and the Senate of Virginia.

Scheduling a Rally or other event on Capitol Square
Groups interested in holding an event on Capitol Square will need a permit, issued by the Division of General Services. Please see the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Division of Engineering and Buildings (DEB) webpage for information on obtaining these permits.
