Hours of Operation

Capitol Building:
During Interim:

Monday–Saturday: 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Sunday: 1:00–5:00 p.m.

During Session:

Monday – Friday 6:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. or upon adjournment of last legislative meeting.

Visitor Entrance (Year-Round):
1000 Bank Street, Richmond, VA 23219 (opposite 10th Street)

Capitol Square Grounds:

Open daily: 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

General Assembly Building:
During the interim:

Monday–Friday: 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

During Session:

Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m. or upon adjournment of last legislative meeting

During General Assembly Session:
Public entry to the Capitol remains through the Bank Street entrance plaza. Tours may be adjusted to accommodate legislative meetings.

Tunnel Access:
Connects the Capitol and General Assembly Buildings.
Open 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. during the interim

Open 6:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. during session
